Driving Instructors - Theory and Hazard Perception Test training

A1 Automatic Driving School suggests it is unnecessary to pass your Theory Test prior to beginning your driving lessons; in fact it will enhance both the Theory study and the driving lessons if both are undertaken simultaneously
During your driving lessons you will receive coaching enabling you to pass your Theory and Hazard Perception Test

A1 Automatic Driving School recommends Focus All Tests software and will supply this to you at a fraction of the normal shop cost. Focus software is, in our opinion, as good as (DSA) Driving Standards Agency marketed software, but at a fraction of the cost

This software is available free from A1 Automatic Driving School with some starter packages

The Focus software covers Theory Test in exactly the same format as the real DSA Test i.e. a Multiple Question Test, where you are required to identify mostly one answer out of four. Occasionally there will multiple answers within the same question

A1 Automatic Driving School advice to prepare for Theory Test:

Hazard Perception Test:

Driving lessons red cross bullet Do not download phone apps (telephone screens are too small)
Driving lessons green tick bullet Do understand the difference between Potential Hazards (NO CLICK) eg the cyclist in the image to the left, riding along the cycle lane, and a Developing Hazards (CLICK) when the cyclist starts to move out or checks shoulder to do so
Driving lessons green tick bullet Do practice Hazard Perception in driving lessons by mentioning developing hazards you notice, then check appropriate mirrors

With A1 Automatic Driving School, proper training and encouragement results in our clients, in effect, practicing mirror use (a major cause of Driving Test failure statistically) with Hazard Perception from the beginning of your driving lessons...
